Another May in the Books

May Madness

May is always a crazy month for our family.  I guess it really starts at the end of April.  My neice, Ryleigh, has her birthday 12 days before Chase.  We love that the use of technology so we can send her birthday videos.  This May was extra busy with Doug at his newest job, which can sometimes require out of town work and my aunt visiting from San Francisco.  So we celebrated Chase's birthday on the 7th, David's birthday on the 22nd, Melody's birthday on the 23rd and Laura Beth's birthday on the 28th.  We didn't have huge parties or anything like that, but remembering them all these days is crazy enough!

Aunt Nina's visit

The kids really enjoyed having her here and she was able to see our house for the first
time and see how the kids are adjusting to their crazy schedules the older they get.  Soccer, tennis, tutoring, you name it, she joined us!  She also had a girls' night with my mom and Samantha (oh my).  Then there was the H Mart.  That is the most awesome Asian Market I have ever been to!

Chuck E. Cheese birthday (never again)

This year we tried to convince the kids to have a joint birthday party.  We have really been trying to save money so this was the easiest way to go about it.  We let each child invite 3-4 kids.  I booked online and saved money and even figured that the guests could use their tickets to choose their "goody bag" items.  I also offered that this be a drop-off birthday party since Doug would be available to help.  (or so I thought)  Doug found out a few weeks before that he would have to go on an out-of-town job so he would not be there.  Thank goodness for Aunt Mel!  She saved the day with going to get cupcakes!  (a whole other issue)  Needless to say the party was a success - all kids were accounted for, everyone had a great time and we can say that we have been to Chuck E. Cheese.
